


In 1980, Doctor’s Hospital became a part of Hospital Corporation of America, an international healthcare services company. The name Woodland Community Hospital was given to the facility.
In 1986, Woodland Community Hospital was purchased by National
Healthcare, Inc. NHS later changed their name to Hallmark Healthcare, Inc., and we retained our name as Woodland Community Hospital.
In 1994, Hallmark Healthcare, Inc. merged with Community Health Systems, Inc.
In 1995, Woodland Medical Center renovated the emergency department & surgical suites. A three-story office complex, known as the Professional Office Building, was also added in 1995. The facility name was then changed to Woodland Medical Center.
On March 1, 2008, Woodland Medical Center was purchased by Capella Healthcare, Inc., a fresh company with five thriving facilities running at the time of the agreement. Capella Healthcare, Inc. acquired nine other facilities in the purchase from Community Health Systems.
