Woodland Home Health

Professionals from Woodland Medical Center Home Health bring affordable, personal home health services to your door. Home Health gives the best of care in the privacy of your own home. It works for patients whose medical conditions can be treated at home by combining the specialized care of professionals with the care provided by family and friends. Our services include:

Skilled Nursing
Our registered nurses are on call for consultations or scheduled visits to patients and their families 24 hours a day. Their visits are both meaningful and personal. The services provided by our nurses include skilled observation and assessments; foley catheter irrigation/insertion; care of wounds and dressings; venipuncture and obtaining lab specimens; administering medications; bowel and bladder training. We also provide educational services on medication, diseases, enteral and parenteral feeding, tracheostomy care, ostomy care, diet, self-care and maintenance of venous access devices.

Therapy and Support Services
Woodland's professional physical therapists aid in recovery by evaluating and treating patients whose temporary or permanent disabilities cause a loss of function, strength, motion, and/or speech. Our goal is to give patients the individual services that they need so they can reach the highest possible level of functioning. These services include those of certified physical therapists and speech therapists.

Home Health Aides
Our Home Health Aides help patients who cannot take care of themselves with the routine activities of health and cleanliness. They provide such personal services as baths and shampoos; clothing changes; oral hygiene; back and foot massages; providing bowel or bladder assistance; therapy instructed exercises; and other services as determined by evaluation.

You can feel confident welcoming Home Health staff into your home. We take special care to ensure that all professionals are screened and oriented. The agency is Medicare and Medicaid certified, and it meets the stringent quality standards of the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. In fact, we scored the highest possible rating of 100 on our survey in 2002.

All care is carefully supervised by registered nurses under the direction of your physician. For more information, please contact (256) 775-7400.
