Critically ill medical and surgical patients receive high quality care in Woodland Medical Center's Critical Care Unit (CCU). The Critical Care Unit is composed of six beds with two private rooms and four beds with a centralized nursing station that provides continuous physical observation. Important monitoring equipment provides both bedside and telemetry cardiac monitoring. Services provided to our patients include:
• Nursing staff certified in ACLS (advanced cardiac life support) and PALS (pediatric advanced life support)
• Mechanical ventilation
• Invasive hemodynamic monitoring
• Temporary and permanent pacemakers
• Antithrombolytic Therapy
• Vasoactive / Cardiac drips
• Patient / Family education
Patients may be admitted for cardiac, postsurgical, medical, and psychiatric emergencies.

The medical/surgical unit provides services to medical and surgical patients ranging in ages infant to elderly. Televisions are included with each bed, and all rooms have bathroom and shower facilities. Private rooms are also available. Senior Circle members enjoy special benefits when admitted to the medical/surgical unit.
